We are pleased to offer a support group for bereaved young people who have lost a loved one who was cared for by St Peter's Hospice. This is facilitated by a therapist and volunteers from the Psychological Therapies team, using creative approaches to allow a gentle and informal feel to sessions. The intention of each session will be to promote identification and support between young people within the context of a safe space.
Secondary school-aged young people aged 12-17 years (1.5hr session, 4pm - 5.30pm)
This is a drop in group and will run on the following dates (please arrive in the café area for a 4pm start):
- 12 March
- 23 April
- 21 May
- 18 June
Young people are welcome to turn up on the day, but we would also appreciate an idea of numbers in advance where possible. You can complete the form below or call 0117 915 9544, 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, please do leave a message.
For younger children we will be offering smaller, closed groups in response to need, alongside our 1:1 therapy service.
The sessions
All of the above are stand alone sessions, so you can choose to attend just one session, or as many as you would like. They will take place at the Hospice in Brentry. The address is St Peter's Hospice, Charlton Road, Bristol BS10 6NL.
Young people need to be able to attend the group without their accompanying adult, but adults are required to stay on site during the sessions. We will be providing a separate space with refreshments for anyone who would prefer a quieter space with one of our team. Our coffee shop will also remain open until 4.30pm for refreshments.
Please check this page on the day of your visit in case of any cancellations.
Suggested books
We also offer a list of suggested books for children and young people to read.
