Volunteer as a Corporate

Volunteer Through Your Work

Here at St Peter's Hospice we recognise that companies want to be able to give more than just money to a charity; volunteering allows employees to engage with the charity at a ground level (literally when it comes to volunteering in our gardens), gaining a deeper understanding of what makes St Peter's Hospice so special.

We have a number of opportunities available, some of which are ideal for larger teams and others which suit individuals or smaller groups. As well as the following opportunities we also need volunteers to help with our events and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Volunteer In Our Gardens

Corporate group volunteering in the garden

At our Hospice in Brentry we have beautiful gardens which are enjoyed by patients, families and staff. In busy months our gardener appreciates some extra help from groups of volunteers who can help with some of the larger jobs. Activities depend on what is needed at the time and therefore you will need to be flexible and generally fit and healthy. We can take groups of between 4-10 people and therefore this is a great opportunity for larger teams. You will be working in the Hospice and therefore this is a fantastic opportunity to gain a more intimate understanding of the work we do and how your support is helping us.

Due to the amazing support we get from our charity partners, we are currently only recruiting garden volunteers from our active partners. Please get in touch if you'd like to hear more about alternative opportunities, or to be kept in mind for future garden opportunities.

Volunteer At Our Warehouse

Our warehouse is at the heart of the logistical operation that helps to support our shops in the wider Bristol area as well as our eBay and Depop shops.  With so many locations we have a large volume of donations that need to be sorted and processed at the warehouse.

Volunteering at the warehouse is a wonderful way to gain an insight into the world of charity retail whilst you will also get a fantastic opportunity to see some of the weird and wonderful things people donate to us. Our warehouse is based in Avonmouth and we can take groups of between 3-6 people. The day runs from 9.30am-4pm. Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day however you will have to bring your own lunch as we do not have a café and there are few shops around. We also recommend you wear layers as it can get very cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

If you are volunteering on your own you could also spend the day with one of our drivers helping them with pick up's and deliveries. Get in touch to see how you could best help us.

Volunteer in Our Shops

Volunteer in a St Peter's Hospice shop

We can arrange for 1 or 2 people to help in one of our shops across Bristol for the day, and could even have several people in different shops on the same day. You would be helping to sort through stock and getting items ready to sell.

Whatever you choose do for us we do ask that companies do some fundraising for us prior to their volunteer day. This could be a cake sale, a dress down day, a raffle, a sponsored sport event etc. We are here to support you so just let us know if you are struggling for fundraising ideas.

Whilst we realise some cancellations are unavoidable, we do ask that your teams do their utmost to honour any confirmed volunteer opportunities to ensure important work is completed and preparation by our staff is not wasted.
