Building community connections

Patient Care Stories

We recently had a visit from Ming, Chloe and a group from the local Chinese Community Wellbeing society, who came along to the Hospice to learn more about our services. The visit was hosted by Muna and Caroline from our Community Engagement team, and there were talks delivered by our Psychological Therapies, Social Care and Wellbeing Service teams, followed by a tour of the Hospice Gardens.

These visits are a great way to engage with our local communities, and for them to learn more about the support we offer, should they - or someone they know, ever need us.

Here's some of the feedback we had from the group:

"The garden is lovely and beautiful, and the Hospice would be a nice place to come at the end of life."

"It was good to learn more about the emotional support service, I only knew about the charity shops before today, so I've learnt a lot more."

"The service you provide is very broad, very diversified and we really appreciate that. It's very different to the services in Hong Kong. If I came here at the end of my life, I'd be very happy."

"The visitors also found the St Peter's website very helpful, especially its ability to switch languages and read information aloud, which made it easier for them to access all the information they needed." said Muna, Community Engagement Officer.

We're here for every community and we're continuing to build lasting partnerships with underserved communities and listening to learn more about each other. We want to ensure that everyone in our region knows we're here when it matters most.
