The Rugby March

Get Fundraising

This year, The Rugby March aims to raise £45,000 in total for St Peter's Hospice. This incredible total could fund over 1,200 hours of care from the Hospice at Home team so patients can stay where they are most comfortable at the end of their lives. But we can't do it without you!

Every pound you raise or donate by taking part in The Rugby March makes a difference to the lives of local families and patients.

There are so many ways to raise vital funds for St Peter's Hospice. You can collect sponsorship, hold an event like a quiz or even collect up your loose change. Whatever you decide to do, fundraising for the Hospice will make taking part in The Rugby March feel even more special.

Online Fundraising

Setting up an online giving page is the easiest way to gather sponsorship and spread the message about the challenge you're taking on.

Create your page and personalise it with photos, updates and your story. You can also make team pages so all your friends' fundraising is together in one place. Then, all the money kindly donated to your page comes directly to the Hospice without you having to do anything or chase anyone for cash - perfect!

Share your page on social media to spread the word to all your friends and family about the challenge.

Or, download a sponsorship form to pass around your local group, school, street or workplace too. You might even tell your sponsors that if you raise a certain amount, you'll complete the walk in fancy dress...!

Don't forget to gift aid it! If we can claim gift aid, we get an extra 25%. Just think, if you raise £100 and everyone ticked the box then you've actually raised £125 for us.

Hold a Fundraiser

Get creative an organise a fundraiser for a fun way to increase your total. How about...

  • Organise a Six Nations sweepstake and get guesses on what the score will be for a game. Ask for a £2 donation per guess, and whoever is closest wins a prize
  • Hold a fundraiser at work like a cake sale, dress down day or a fancy dress Friday. Get the office involved, and ask your employer if they can match fund as well.
  • Put on a quiz night for friends and family, in your local pub or even online on Zoom.  There are loads of quiz questions available to download online or you can put your own together. If you're not a fan of a quiz, how about a bingo night instead?
  • Make an empty jam jar your Rugby March pot and add your loose change at home, the cost of a coffee every week, or put it in the office by the biscuit jar. You'll be surprised at how quickly it adds up!

Your fundraising provides advice at the end of the phone, a comforting hand and a nurse on the doorstep when and where it's needed most.

"From the moment we contacted them, St Peter's Hospice were absolutely outstanding in their care for dad and made it clear they were there to support us too. Dad was treated with the utmost kindness, consideration and respect - we can only thank them from the bottom of our hearts."
