After a short closure for a fabulous refit, we have reopened our Westbury Hill shop to stock exclusively vintage and retro. The shop in Westbury-on-Trym (which is one of two St Peter's charity shops in the area) now stocks a range of vintage treasures including menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and home goods.
The shop reopened its doors on 2 October and since then they've been very busy with shoppers. Within the first two hours of opening, the shop team sold everything on display in the window including a showstopping Laura Ashley dress from the 1970s.
Westbury Hill previously had a section of the shop dedicated to vintage and retro finds and our customers liked it so much we decided to expand the range to be a specially dedicated store.
The demand for vintage and retro clothing has increased in recent years largely due to consumer desires to shop more sustainably as well as a huge influence from social media which is impacting the shopping habits of Generation Z. A quick search on TikTok for 'vintage clothing' shows thousands of videos where shopping for vintage and retro clothes is promoted with really positive audience engagement.
John Broomhead, Director of Retail said "We are excited to expand our Vintage range and to now have a store totally focused on Vintage products. This store is a real treasure chest which makes for an intriguing shopping experience. There is no other store like this in Bristol and I would like to thank our fantastic supporters who donate the most amazing items."
Our Westbury Hill and Westbury-on-Trym shops are also running a loyalty card scheme to celebrate the launch where you can collect a stamp every time you spend £10. Once six stamps have been collected you can get 50% off your next shop.
If you think you have any vintage or retro pieces that you no longer want, drop them off at Westbury Hill or one of our other shops across Bristol today to support your local hospice. You can find the store at: 69 Westbury Hill, BS9 3AA. Open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-5.30pm.
